A bag of letters that sat in a barn for nearly 40 years before being found and moved to a closet for another 20 years.

These letters were brought to me to put in chronological order and to scan into digital for the family. 

It wasn't physically difficult to cut the twine that had been holding on to secrets all these years, but my heart was aflutter knowing these private love letters were about to come to life.

Something in that old barn had chewed thru some of the letters, but after 40 years in there, they faired better than expected.

Here, they are in chronological order, ready to begin the slow process of scanning. Because of their delicate state, a flatbed scanner was used to scan them.

Dog tags were found at the bottom of the bag, under all of the letters.
